New Panasonic Lumix TZ Series Digital Cameras May Be the Best Ever

One of the best digital cameras for the money. If you are looking for a BIG ZOOM in a small camera, then the Panasonic LUMIX TZ series cameras are what you need. Back in 2006, Panasonic launched the first Travel Zoom (TZ) Lumix cameras and most of the other digital cameras have been playing catch up ever since. Some consider these Lumix TZ's to be the best camera, digital wise. Still others say this is one of the top digital cameras available on the market today.

Why is the Panasonic Lumix TZ better?

It's a very compact, quality constructed digital camera which means it's an easy keeper when you travel, not taking up much space. The DMC-TZ3 has a 28-280mm equivalent lens which provides sharp, excellent resolution. It also provides very little color fringing and any sort of image or color distortion. Both very important if you want your family and friends to appear natural looking in your pictures. One of the things I like about my Lumix is the ergonomically designed shape. It's easy to hold on to, and feels comfortable in your hands.

The best part of this camera is the 230,000 pixel, 3-inch screen on the back that provides a bright, high-resolution image, even when the camera is in sunlight. The on-screen menus and control settings can be easily recognized. There are also new color options for making your pictures appear more vivid or natural. Image stabilization also works very well on this camera. One of the great things about the screen on all the TZ model cameras is the ability to see the screen even when viewing it at an extreme angle. For example, if you hold the camera above your head to get a shot, you can still see the image on the screen and get your shot.

What you may not like about this camera

Although the resolution is quite a bit higher than in past digital cameras, it could still use a bit more tweaking. Working in an image software software after you take the pictures will easily fix most of these minor issues. These cameras are not going to take the best pictures in dim or low light, but it really wasn't designed for that. This is a digital camera that allows just about anyone to be able to take a great picture. There is no manual control over shutter speed, but most everyday folks would never use this anyway. Also, because it has 3-inch super bright display on the back, there is no view finder like a traditional camera. If you like to shoot pictures by looking through a view finder, then this camera is not for you.
